A Journey Through Geometry and Optical Illusions.
Born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1986, I, Sony Bemore, have always been captivated by the intricate figures and shapes that nature presents. This early fascination inspired me to explore the language of proportions in spaces beyond our immediate visual field.
In 2010, I transformed my passion into a profession by becoming a graphic designer, specializing in advertising. My profound interest in geometry led me to delve deeply into the world of optical illusions, driven by the belief that "we are convinced that we perceive a fully three-dimensional world, when in reality, we are only viewing a completely flat surface."
The confinement of 2020 presented an opportunity for introspection and creativity. Through meditation, I maintained my balance and began creating a series of sketches and technical drawings. I utilized the fundamental principles of perception, space, color, light, and movement as my tools, driven by an inner need to manifest creation.
My work revolves around impossible figures that defy the laws of geometry, creating a vast spectrum of perspectives in space and using color to amplify the optical illusion.
Currently, I reside in Atlanta, Georgia, where I draw inspiration from the city's vibrant artistic and creative scene.
